A new communication system – “Thuraya” has been launched within the project to increase tourists’ safety. Tourist groups, especially active tourism followers, very often meet some  communication problems while they are traveling around the South Caucasus.

“Thuraya” (which contains GSM+GPS+Satelite) can solve this problem. This system enables tourists to communicate and send geographic  coordinates using the SMS. These data will be marked on digital map in basic computer, and in that way we can determine location of tourists to 20-30 m. and render them assistance in case of need at any time, in any weather. The similar communication system is functioning in Armenia and Azerbaijan. We can load the route maps into GPS for tourists who possess this device or equip tourists with our GPS, as well as offer them skilled rescue-guide service.
